Disclosure Under RTI Act: Fee Structure for Obtaining Information

As per the provisions of the Right to Information (Regulation of Fee and Cost) Rules, 2005, as amended from time to time, the following fee structure shall apply for obtaining information from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) under the Right to Information Act, 2005:

1. Application Fee (Section 6(1))

An application for seeking information must be accompanied by a fee of Rupees Ten (₹10/-). The fee may be paid through any of the following modes:

  • Cash (against proper receipt)
  • Banker’s Cheque/Bank Draft/Indian Postal Order drawn in favour of
    “ASSOCIATION OF INDIAN UNIVERSITIES” payable at NEW DELHI.

Note:
Applications not accompanied by the prescribed fee in the proper amount and payment mode are liable to be rejected.

Applicants belonging to the Below Poverty Line (BPL) category are exempted from payment of the fee. However, valid proof of BPL status must be submitted along with the application.

2. Fee for Providing Information (Section 7(1))

The charges for providing information are as follows:

  • ₹2 (Rupees Two) for each page (in A-4 or A-3 size paper) created or copied.
  • Actual cost or price of a copy in larger size paper.
  • Actual cost or price of samples or models.
  • For inspection of records:
    • No fee for the first hour.
    • ₹5 (Rupees Five) for each subsequent hour or part thereof.
