The Evaluation Division of AIU is vested with the power of according academic equivalence to the degrees obtained from the accredited foreign Boards/universities.  The Division provides expert assistance on the status of foreign qualifications to the Students, Universities, Central and State Governments agencies including Ministries of the Government of India, etc. The Division also provides assistance to foreign accrediting agencies of  foreign countries.  The Division helps the MHRD to formulate the proposals for Educational Exchange Programmes (EEP), between Indian Universities and Universities of other counties, on mutual recognition of educational qualifications.  The Division  provides expert assistance on the status of foreign qualifications to the Universities, Ministries of the Government of India, Union Public Service Commission and other Central/State Agencies, concerning with the selection of students having obtained their qualifications from abroad.  It also grants academic equivalence to the Management Programmes of the autonomous Management Institutions approved by the  AICTE.
The Division has brought out an INFORMATION BROCHURE giving details of the “Policies and Procedures” adopted to accord equivalence to various qualifications..

Equivalence of Foreign Qualifications:

School Level Qualifications:
Equivalence Certificate is issued for the students having completed their School Level Examinations from Foreign Boards.

Higher Education Qualifications:
Equivalence Certificate is issued for the students having obtained their degrees from Foreign accredited/approved/ recognized Universities.

Equivalence of Two Year Full-Time Postgraduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) Programmes:

• Equivalence is accorded to the Two Year Full-Time Postgraduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) awarded by the autonomous Institutions approved by AICTE and programme accredited by NBA.
  (Kindly send a RTGS/NEFT/Demand Draft for Rs. 50,000/- + 18% GST extra Total amount is Rs. 59,000/- (Non Refundable) towards Processing Fee in case of New Application and Rs. 5,000/- + 18% GST extra Total amount is Rs. 5,900/- for Renewal Case.).

Equivalence of Fellow Programme

Equivalence is accorded to Four Year Fellow Programme awarded by Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) and Non-University Institutions, falling outside the purview of the Universities with PhD Degree of an Indian University. Application Form, Guidelines and Process of according equivalence are given below.

  Note: Equivalence to Fellow Programme till now was confined only to IIMs but in a recent decision, it has been decided to extend this facility to non-IIMs, also, subject to fulfilment of the conditions as sited above. Institutes may apply on our prescribed Application Form.

Facilitation of Students for Education Loan from Banks

The Division facilitates the Bank by providing information on the accreditation status of Foreign/Indian Universities on a request received from the Bank on receipt of the following documents:

• 1. Letter from Bank addressed to AIU
• 2. Offer Letter issued by the University
• 3. (Pay Rs. 1180/- only on Online Mode and attached an auto generated mail of this or receipt with documents

General Enquiry

The Division also facilitates the students having passed their School Examination below Grade 10 by issuing a Letter of Equivalence for which the following documents are required:

• 1. Fee for Rs.1180/- in the form of Demand Draft favouring “ASSOCIATION OF INDIAN UNIVERSITIES’
• 2. A request letter/application
• 3. Academic Transcript for the last Class passed
• 4. Transfer Certificate/letter from the Principal of the School confirming the last examination passed.

Equivalence to Professional Examination

The Division has accorded equivalence to some of the Professional Examinations conducted by various Institutions/Bodies in India for the purpose to admission to higher studies.
