Sports Board

There shall be an Inter-University Sports Board. All universities/institutes, which are membersof the Association of Indian Universities, shall,ipso facto, be the member of the Sports Board

Current Composition

The Sports Board shall consist of:

A Ex-Officio Members

  1. President AIU
  2. Working Chairman nominated by President, AIU, from amongst the Vice-Chancellors/Directors who are members of the Standing Committee.
  3. Secretary General, AIU
  4. Officer Incharge of Sports Division of AIU who shall be the Secretary of the sports board.

B Zonal Members

  1. 32 male representatives, 8 from each zone, nominated by the concerned universities/institutes in the alphabetical order
  2. 12 female representatives, 3 from each zone, nominated by the concerned universitics/institutes in the reverse alphabetical order

In ease a universty instinute is not in a position to nominate a male or female member on the Sports Board due to non-availability of a member in the concemed sccion (male or female), that university/institute shall be entitled to nominatc a member in the other section for the purpose.
No univensity/institute shall have one male member and one female member on the Sports Board for a concurrent term. In such a situation, the female member shall be from the next senior most university/institute.


The Sports Committee
The Sports Board shall have a Sports Committee, which shall consist of:

A. Ex-Oficio Members

  1. President
  2. working Chaiman
  3. Secretary General, AIU
  4. Secretary, Sports Board

B. Zonal Members

  1. 4 male members of the Sports Board by virtue of the seniority of their respective universities/institutes
  2. 2 female members of the Sports Board by virtue of the seniority of their respective universities/institutes
